No, but I wouldn't rule it out after four years of Obama!!
I just dislike the Republican neo cons.
Tony- 11-04-2008
I think that the GOP needs time off. It is so oriented around the puppetmasters behind Bush that the only way is to spend some time, preferably 8 years, in opposition as an act of cleansing.
I have no time at all for the current mob in charge, it really will be good riddance to bad rubbish.
Percy- 11-04-2008
I wouldn't rule it out
Would you welcome it as a 'positive' step?
Jack London- 11-04-2008
No, more cathartic!
Percy- 11-04-2008
No, more cathartic!
Isn't catharsis usually thought of as positive?
Tony- 11-04-2008
What have the Cathars got to do with it? You going on an Albigensian Crusade, Jack?
Tony- 11-04-2008
No, more cathartic!
Isn't catharsis usually thought of as positive?
That all depends on whether you are the one having to listen to it, Percy!
Percy- 11-04-2008
True, but it's a word with two linked but slightly different meanings, bowel movements being one of them.
The other is more of feeling, or emotion, of purification.
I still maintain that catharsis is 'positive' so unless Jack specifically says that he would NOT like to see a race-war in the US following an Obama presidency, I'll assume that he would.
Jack London- 11-04-2008
Any social strife in the US would be on racial lines.
Of course, I don't want to see it, but it can't be ruled out.
Percy- 11-04-2008
Of course, I don't want to see it
Why 'of course'?
You have to admit it would be the logical choice of any nationalist.
How else could you ever 'separate' races?
Jack London- 11-04-2008
Stop immigration for a start.
Plus, I'm not a great fan of the US of A.
I prefer the states' rights solution.
George Wallace was the last great proponent of that (and he was shot), though I think it will have its day again.

Interesting.
I seem to remember that Wallace was only a temporary proponent of segregation, admitting later in life that he only pushed it to gain political power.
He personally appointed many black people.
So it seems that his personal commitment was less than honest.
Personally I think that 'Caribou Barbie' Palin would be a better bet for civil war in the USA.
Tony- 11-04-2008
So it seems that his personal commitment was less than honest.
You mean like Jefferson who advocated the abolition of slavery but had 150 of his own and also had seven children by one of them?
I thought hypocrisy was one of the major weapons in a politician's arsenal!
Philosopher's Stoned- 11-04-2008
The realities of Obummer's stated policies - or what passes for them - make interesting reading.
I respect prof. Petra's writing, analysis and perspective on much, whilst he is a wee bit too lefty for me.

Great article PS!
I was rendered wide-awake, months ago, when Obama said that he would bomb Pakistan. I can remember being surprised at the time but the article demonstrates why I shouldn't be.
This sounds like 'business as usual' for the USA.
Change? My arse!
