Radovan Karadzic, Europe's most wanted man, captured
I'm looking forward to the day Blair and Bush are captured and put on trial for war crimes. http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2008/jul/22/warcrimes.internationalcrime

He wasn't exactly 'on the run'. I heard that he was living in Belgrade and earning a living from practicing 'alternative medicine'. It's inconceivable to me that the authorities didn't know EXACTLY where he was. It seems that the political outlook in Serbia has turned firmly towards favouring the West and the EU after decades of isolation. In other words, the Serbs are now doing as they are told - like the rest of us.

Yes, Miliband seems particularly chuffed. http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2008/jul/22/radovankaradzic.serbia2

"We have always said that Serbia has a place in the European family and that place depends not just on cultural, economic and political issues but also on the European values of justice and human rights. The determination of the Serb government to do what the international community asked bodes very well for long-term relations." Paraphrased as: Oh look, we have a new poodle! Tosser.

Karadzic is expected to be handed over to the tribunal in The Hague soon. He was arrested near Belgrade, where he had lived and worked as a doctor under a false identity. Are they sure it's the right man? Shades of Rudolf Hess going on here!
