Holocaust revisionist held in UK jail
Then, when the papers come through, he is to be extradited to Germany where he will get a fair trial and then they will put him in prison. http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2008/oct/03/germany.australia

A surprising figure jumps to Toben's defence. http://www.civilliberty.org.uk/newsdetail.php?newsid=480

Personally, I think the core of any defence against this ridiculous charge should be to ask for documentary evidence of the Jews that were killed in the holocaust: Names, addresses, dates of birth, marriage/birth certificates. If they cannot be provided in sufficient numbers, i.e. at least 75% of the 6 million claimed dead then it has to be accepted that the number was made up to suit a political purpose. Criminal cases have to be proven beyond reasonable doubt. There is very good reason to doubt the figures 'widely accepted', for one thing there is no actual proof of them. As for the Germans, just because they finally gained a conscience over their actions that is no reason to persecute or prosecute anyone else. Maybe if they had gone after the South American Nazis that escaped instead of trying to get in the way of the Simon Wiesenthal there might be more sympathy for their high-horse manufactured posing.

This sets a very dangerous precedent indeed when you start to think about what is illegal in various countries. As this article from AxisofLogic points out: As some observers have pointed out, Germany is trying to "legislate for the entire world" by treating downloadable Internet material as a German publication. Nigel Farage, leader of the UK Independence Party, said that while his party in no way condones Toben's views, “not only has he not broken any UK laws, but in seeking to arrest him, Germany is claiming censorship rights to the entire Internet network.” The danger also exists that other countries, citing the German precedent, may similarly seek to punish persons outside their borders who post writings that violate their parochial notions of permissible speech and writing. Turkey, for example, could demand the extradition and punishment of anyone in any European state who posts online writings that violate the country’s law that makes it a crime to insult the Turkish nation. Pakistan or Saudi Arabia could demand the extradition and punishment of persons in Europe who post writings or images that insult Islam. China could demand the extradition and punishment of persons who call for the independence of Tibet, or who question the legitimacy of China’s Communist Party. It is difficult to believe that Germany would allow other countries to punish its citizens on the same basis that Germany insists on punishing anyone who violates its own “thought crime” law. Germany’s effort to impose its peculiar limits on free speech outside its borders has potentially harmful consequences for Internet freedom of expression everywhere. Because the Toben case has such far-reaching implications, people in many countries will be closely watching how British authorities decide to handle Germany’s extradition request.

It's a stupid, ill-thought out and perverse action. The article above hits it right on the nose, I doubt that our judges would be stupid enough to give this any credence, even if our police and politicians are! The other recent worry, that is similar but definitely not the same, was the chap who hacked the defence computers in the US. He was extradited not so much because he broke US laws but because the US had to do something to protect it's property and had to be seen to be doing so. Hence the crazy threat to lock him up for 40 years! The internet has created a whole raft of cross-border issues because it is now very easy to commit crimes, especially fraud, remotely, whereas prior to its global spread a physical presence would have been necessary in the targeted country. It does require some careful consideration, but this bullshit from Germany should be tossed in the bin where it belongs.

This totally biased legislation is wholly down to the Neo-Con Zionist lobby: and just goes to show how very powerful - and dangerous - they are! And what's worse is the reaility that they tend to dominate in terms of media, advertising and PR; which allows them to steer public perception to their advantage. The Holocaust, has of course been cynically employed to get loads of non-thinking people on-side and used thereafter to justify Israel carrying out almost identical programmes of genocide, theft of property and assets, torture, starvation and suppression, using the oft trumpeted excuse of "Terrorism" to conceal their crimes against humanity. I would have thought Tobin can shelter under the European Convention on Human Rights? And why isn't Australia screaming rape? Abducting a passenger from an aircraft inflight - when the flightside area is designated a territorial and diplomatic null zone, is surely in itself a crime? Seems the biggest crims today are the Storm Troopers AKA police etc acting on instructions from their political Fascist Gauliters..................

Jack London- 11-15-2008

He is still in custody. http://www.civilliberty.org.uk/newsdetail.php?newsid=511

Derius- 11-15-2008

I agree with Sir P that this matter is a worrying precedent. We might all be in prison in a few years time for our posts on this blog. Jack will be extradited to Israel, and me and Tony will end up being sent to Saudi Arabia for trial. Or the UN. Sir P, and PS, please pick the country where you think you might end up being sent to!

Philosopher's Stoned- 11-15-2008

By the time it goes that far, D, I will hopefully be a French citizen and France takes a dim view of other nation states trying to order them about relative to their citizens. Of better yet, a PT (No; not Piss Taker, but Permanent Traveller) with something esoteric like a Dominican Republic passport! The beauty is, spend less than 6 months in each domicile and you are not fiscally or technically resident.

Percy- 11-15-2008

Derius - probably to the USA on trial for something to do with the enormous damage that I've single-handedly inflicted on the entire US automotive industry by referring to their cars as "crap"! :D

Tony- 11-15-2008

No danger there then Percy... nobody was taking any notice of you. 8)

Derius- 11-15-2008

Well Sir P, you get what you pay for and American cars are the cheapest! Still, as they run at 5 miles to the gallon, you end up spending more in the long run anyway..... The car taking you to prison in America might run out of petrol on the way, and then you could make your escape!

Tony- 11-15-2008

Still, as they run at 5 miles to the gallon, you end up spending more in the long run anyway..... At 12,000 miles pa, and say, 18mpg as against 30mpg, 667gals v 400 gals, that would be approx $800/year at $3 a gallon. Prices and mileage quoted are for US gallons, so add 25% for imperial. To spend $5000 more at 5% interest, that would mean approx 9 years to make up the difference... do you normally keep a car for 9 years? I thought not. It's a very long run.

Derius- 11-16-2008

I was joking, Tony. Didn't the line about Sir Percy making his escape when the car runs out of petrol give it away? As I don't drive, I have no knowledge or interest in how good the American cars actually are. So I'm not going to get involved in any further car debates on this thread!

Tony- 11-16-2008

Derius, the whole discussion was a joke... fk... why have I got a bunch of ragheads at the front door...?
