Probably collecting for a good cause.
You know the one: give us all your money and we won't shoot you!
It's the not shooting bit that's the good cause: yours!

As I don't drive, I have no knowledge or interest in how good the American cars actually are.
You don't actually drive Yanks (Slang for American cars, D): you simply aim 'em.
Well, as best you can: their steering, tyres and suspension is about as precise, shall we say, as a mouse utilising a bit of truck innertube as a condum.

I think that the Cadillac and the Corvette would cause you to eat those particular words... I loved the bit when Jezza was comparing a Ferrari Enzo to it... badly!
The majority of "Yanks" drive more like tanks with helium-filled suspension on springs made of blancmange and steering that is made out of knicker- elastic, but those two really do break the mould.

So did the Mustangs (i.e. handle), which Caroll Shelby "Worked Over".
Whereas as stock cars, the Camarro and the Boss Mustang were about as much use as the earlier Corvettes.
I was always amused to watch John Rhodes in his Broadpseed Escort 1600 BDA drive around Yoggi Muir in his Wiggins Teape Camarro 7 litre whenever it rained, in the European Touring Car Championships back in the early 1970s..........................................
And this, despite Muir's car bearing about as much resemblance to a stock Camarro as does Darling Darling to a finance expert.
Or even, I suppose, a second year Undergraduate studying economics at a red brick university, come to that.
